Experienced Association Management Leader Ashley Driste Joins ACA

Ashley Driste thrives on the details—fitting for a dedicated and experienced events manager specializing in working with associations and nonprofits for the last several years.

With the 2019 Convention & Expo next week and many exciting events in the year ahead, Driste will work closely with Mary Thao, ACA’s director of meetings and events, to provide the best there is to offer in conferences for ACA International’s membership—complete with educational opportunities, networking, expert speakers and of course a little fun.

The 80th anniversary Convention & Expo is a milestone for ACA, and the perfect opportunity for Driste to demonstrate her laser-focus to the small details and the big picture that contribute to a successful event.

“I like all of the details and thrive as my best self when there is a lot going on. I look forward to connecting with ACA members, exhibitors and sponsors at convention,” Driste said. “I also look forward to learning at convention. While it can be seen as a busy, chaotic time, it’s the best time to learn and I’m ready to jump right in.”

Driste joins ACA from the Management HQ association management company, where she worked as an events manager. She earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations and master’s degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State University

"Working with Ashley during our careers in association management has shown she is a great fit for member-based event coordination and working with exhibitors and sponsors,” said Tammy Schoenberg, ACA’s director of member and association services. “I am thrilled she is part of the ACA team as we move forward in continuing to evolve our events and experiences for members.”

After convention, Driste will be a leader in planning ACA’s Fall Forum & Expo, Spring Forum & Expo, Washington Insights and the LevelUp Leadership Experience in September.

“We’ve already seen great work from Ashley in her weeks with ACA and her valuable association and event management experience is an asset for our team and members,” Thao said. “I’ve been so impressed with her work and the pace that she is working at. It is convention crunch time and you would not know she only started a few weeks ago. I’m thrilled to have her join our team and look forward to working with her.”
