Employees from CrossCheck and its affiliate, ACA International member company Optio Solutions, helped package 10,656 pounds of grocery boxes for seniors in need while volunteering at the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) in October. The 360 boxes represent 8,880 meals according to volunteer lead Walt Basinger.
The occasion marked the sixth consecutive month of CrossCheck and Optio employees volunteering at the REFB’s weekday Warehouse Support program, an effort organized by CrossCheck Senior Vice President Charles Dortch III.
The Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization serving north coastal California from Sonoma County to the Oregon border.
“It’s great to see management and employees coming together to support our community,” said CrossCheck Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chris Schumacher, who conducted quality control on the content of each box before they were sealed and palletized. “It’s a fun time outside of the office doing something that makes a difference to others in need.”
