Join ACA International’s new webinar series on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) this fall to gain a comprehensive understanding of how to adapt your workplace with DEI programs.
“This is an important series because it looks at the workforce from three different levels,” said Cori Power, manager, learning and development, BerganKDV, who will lead three webinars in September and October.
Power started the DEI program series with the ACA Huddle Sept. 9, “Developing a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative for Your Organization.” ACA members may listen to the session and access presentation materials here.
Power provided tips and tricks on the DEI program concept, which has continued to gain traction in the corporate world as its benefits have become increasingly clear.
“I believe those in management or who are working to create a DEI program within their organization should definitely listen to the Huddle presentation,” Power said.
Members and non-members are welcome to attend the series of Hot Topic webinars, including Psychological Safety in the Workplace at 2 p.m. CDT Sept. 23, Generational Differences at 2 p.m. CDT Oct. 23, and Attention vs. Time Management, at 2 p.m. CST Nov. 19.
“Psychological safety focuses on the culture of your organization and how to improve that to better the overall organization performance,” Power said.
Companies with a trusting workplace perform better.
“The takeaway from the Psychological Safety in the Workplace webinar is how creating a safe environment for your team members to admit mistakes, share ideas and provide honest feedback can increase engagement and satisfaction for your employees and increase overall revenue for your company,” Power said.
Power will continue the series in October with Generational Differences, which focuses on developing a higher level of understanding about the five generations currently in the workforce—traditionalists, baby boomers, millennials, Generation X and Generation Z—and how to work with generations more effectively, she said.
Each group holds their own set of values, characteristics, work style and communication preferences. Attending this training will help professionals learn more about effectively working together.
“The Generational Differences webinar is focused more on a team level and learning how to work more effectively with all individuals in a team with more understanding of who they are and why they work the way they do,” Power said.
Power will close out the series with the Attention vs. Time Management webinar in November, which focuses more on individual learning.
“I will share 10 tips on how you can better manage not just your time but, more importantly, your attention,” Power said. “This is an essential differentiation because of how connected we are today.”
Power encourages those who are interested to attend the complete series of webinars.
