Working with DCap Claims can allow members to save time and money and, in some cases, see an extra source of revenue-including through a new Blue Cross Blue Shield settlement.

DCap Claims, a member of the Alliance ACA program, is continuing to make waves in member experience at ACA International. We chatted with DCap Claims’ Vice President of Operations Samantha Goodman about recent updates in the claims process, the company’s most valuable assets, new opportunities for ACA members and more.
DCap Claims works directly with, and on behalf of, clients to file valid antitrust and class-action claims, maximize their value, communicate with the claims administrator and service the claim through ultimate recovery.
New in the claims world is a recent Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) settlement of roughly $2 billion. Employers who were buying any kind of BCBS insurance for their employees between 2008 and 2020 could be eligible to file a claim and receive funds. The filing deadline for this settlement is Nov. 5, 2021. Companies using DCap Claims can direct any communication to the company for help throughout the entire process.
One of the reasons DCap Claims gets their clients¬—and keeps them, according to Goodman—is because they do all the heavy lifting that clients just don’t have time for. The more intricate and time-consuming aspects of the claims process are what dissuade companies from filing on their own, leading them to lose out on funds that they are eligible to receive.
“We really dig into each client’s claim and do all the work and take everything off your plate,” Goodman said. “It’s really when it comes down to defending a claim after it’s been filed when there’s a review period—that’s where we really show our talent, so to speak, and go to bat for the client.”
Goodman’s philosophy on DCap Claims’ appeal is its two-pronged system benefiting clients long after they have filed a claim. Not only are they managing all aspects of the current claims process, but they continue to look for new claims to file.
“We’re always bringing new opportunities for our clients, and it ends up for some creating an additional revenue stream,” she said. “Everyone wants to make money without having to do much work, so it brings an extra source of revenue for some companies and a lot of people value that.”
Mike Frost, partner at ACA member company Malone Frost Martin PLLC, shared his own experiences working with DCap Claims.
“DCap’s services are beneficial on several fronts. Just to name a few, DCap has the knowledge and expertise to provide guidance and to properly complete applications and submit to the trustee,” Frost said. “DCap manages the process, which allows agencies to focus on what they are good at—collecting debt and growing their businesses.”
One of the most vital benefits of DCap Claims, according to Frost, is that the company provides it all: expertise, guidance and time. Outsourcing your business’s claims process saves you time, energy and money so you can focus on your core business and assist with clients.
“We do all this for you because you’re busy running your business, and your business does not necessarily involve filing claims to get money back on a settlement,” Goodman said. “But that is our business, and we take all the work off of a client’s plate so that they can do what they’re supposed to. Let us handle the details.”
As a member of the Alliance ACA program, DCap Claims joins other companies in providing high-quality products and services for ACA members in the credit, collection and asset buying industries. Each alliance is established through a stringent due-diligence process and approval by members on the ACA Holding Company Board of Directors. ACA is excited to continue its partnership with DCap Claims.
