Daily Huddles for the Week Ahead

On Wednesday, May 13, don’t miss a discussion on how courts across the country have been operating during the swiftly changing environment caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Jim Moseley, partner, and Greg White, of counsel, with Gray Reed Attorney & Counselors, will review how courts across the country have been operating under the various federal, state, and local COVID-19 declarations of emergency and then rolling that into a quick check-in on recent and pending amicus matters.

David A. King, president of Number Sentry, will present on the latest in call blocking and labeling data Thursday, May 14. The facts are in: Carriers and app-providers disproportionally block outbound calls placed by the accounts receivable management (ARM) industry. King will look at a recent study that measured exactly who is labeling and blocking your calls and to what extent this is happening. King will also offer tips on how ARM professionals can protect outbound calls and increase your call completion rates.

The last Daily Huddle of the week will feature helpful tips on Planning for Tomorrow Today: a checklist for managing what you have done and what you need to do for your "new normal" business on Friday, May 15. Dennis J. Barton III, owner and managing attorney, Barton Law Group, will moderate the discussion with Katherine R. O’Brien, Esq., compliance officer, in-house counsel, Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. Barton and O’Brien will touch on hardship policies, debt collection operational impacts, legal collection pitfalls to avoid and factors to consider in unwinding the rush to remote work arrangements.

On Tuesday, the Daily Huddle featured guests from Collectors Insurance Agency, including CIA’s Licensing Manager Angela Butera, CIA sales manager Dereck Tessmer, as well as Eric Krieger, account executive, commercial risk solutions, Aon. Debra Ciskey, IFCCE, executive vice president with The Collections Coach, is a guest speaker and moderator for a discussion on the insurance implications of the COVID-19 crisis, how different policies are being affected by the pandemic, what coverages businesses need to consider and why these coverages are more important now than ever. The presenters will touch on current headlines around business interruption, cyber and workers’ compensation. They will also discuss their thoughts on how the pandemic will affect the future of the insurance market as the economy begins to recover.
