Daily Huddles for the Week Ahead

Members are invited to join ACA’s team including CEO Mark Neeb, Vice President and Senior Counsel of Federal Advocacy Leah Dempsey, Corporate Counsel Colin Winkler and Vice President of State Government and Unit Affairs Andrew Madden for a Daily Huddle at 11 a.m., Central Standard Time weekdays.

On Wednesday, May 6, Chris Schumacher, president and CEO of Optio Solutions LLC, and Sarah Headly, president at Peacock Consulting LLC, will lead a discussion on “How a Robust Quality Assurance Program Makes it Easier to Respond to a Crisis.” Specifically, they will review how the elements of a quality assurance program, including policies and procedures, can really help a company pivot more quickly in a crisis.

Closing out the week, on Thursday, May 7, ACA’s Compliance Analysts Laura Dadd and Andrew Pavlik will share their insights on “Compliance in the time of COVID-19.” Dadd and Pavlik will discuss Frequently Asked Questions on consumer communication, compliance, state, and federal COVID-19 requirements and more. ACA has made these FAQs available to its members as a general educational resource. We recognize that our compliance landscape has been rapidly changing in recent weeks. If you have a general COVID-19 compliance question that is not addressed in an existing FAQ or if you believe an answer to an existing FAQ may have been superseded by new guidance, please send your suggestions to compliance@acainternational.org.

ACA’s special guest speaker for the Daily Huddle Friday, May 8, Fighting Financial Over-Regulation, is Iain Murray, vice president for strategy and senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. Murray also directs the Center for Economic Freedom. Murray will give an overview of financial regulation and the "alphabet soup" of financial regulators. He will outline three ways in which his organization fights over-regulation, with case studies, and finally talk about how they are applying this model to debt collection regulation.

Access to each Daily Huddle is available on ACA’s COVID-19 resources home page.

Daily Huddle sponsors are Collectors Insurance Agency Licensing Services, Intelligent Contacts, RevSpring, Solutions by Text, BillingTree, Interprose, and TCN. Recordings of past Daily Huddle sessions are also available.
