CFPB’s John McNamara to Speak Friday at Fall Forum

McNamara will share an insider’s view on regulatory issues while a slate of other key industry professionals discuss legal, healthcare and compliance education during the 2017 Fall Forum & Expo in Chicago.
The final day of ACA’s 2017 Fall Forum & Expo will feature highly-anticipated regulatory insights from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s John McNamara, a seasoned professional with more than 30 years’ experience working in the debt collection market.
McNamara, the CFPB’s assistant director of consumer lending, reporting and collections markets, has been involved in the CFPB’s debt collection rulemaking process, including facilitating discussions of the debt collection proposals with the Community Bank Advisory Council and Consumer Advisory Board in 2016. He was also the debt collection program manager at the CFPB.
This is a must-attend session where conference-goers will have the opportunity to interact with a key Washington insider.
Also on Friday, John Bedard Jr., owner of Bedard Law Group P.C., will start the morning at 8:30 a.m. with a members-only event focused on strategies for defending claims against your clients, and later in the morning at another members-only event, Charity Olson, managing partner at Brock & Scott PLLC, will present information on recent case law and its impact on agencies.
Attendees interested in healthcare collections should consider joining Irene Hoheusle’s presentation titled “How to Make Rock Stars of Your Medical Debt Collectors” at 9:40 a.m. Hoheusle, vice president of collections and education at Account Recovery Specialists Inc., will provide insights and solutions to help your staff successfully work with patients to resolve their accounts.
Finally, the industry’s leading experts in mergers and acquisitions will share their experiences at 10:50 a.m. during an exclusive session, “Dissecting the Deal.” Members of the panel are: Harry Strausser III, Corporate Vanguard at Eastern Revenue Inc.; Brian Greenberg, CEO of Greenberg Advisors LLC; Michael Lamm, president/CEO of Corporate Advisory Solutions LLC; Michael Ginsberg, president/CEO of Kauklin Ginsberg Company; and Thomas Edens, president of Marion Financial Corp.
