ACA International’s Annual Convention & Expo concludes after bringing together U.S. and international attendees for valuable education and networking opportunities, all guided by ACA’s mission to Help Members Succeed.

More than 1,000 attendees, including guests from nine countries, left San Diego energized for what’s ahead in the accounts receivable management industry after ACA International’s 2019 Convention & Expo.
The annual event combined valuable education and networking opportunities with direct interaction and insights from ACA’s legal and advocacy staff, who are hard at work on the judicial front and on Capitol Hill. Members also shared their expertise in a legal education series with discussions covering technology and the law, collections, bankruptcy and more.
If you missed any of the sessions or couldn’t join us in San Diego, most of the sessions were recorded. Links to purchase the recordings will be available soon.
In addition to connecting members from around the world and expanding their education, the annual convention featured community service opportunities for California-based Operation Gratitude and activities to support the ACA International Education Foundation and ACPAC (ACA’s Political Action Committee).
ACA chose to support Operation Gratitude with a care package station at the convention’s headquarters, the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, and a goal to pack 400 bags to support the troops. The project tied in with an inspirational keynote, sponsored by LucentPay, given by Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot.
Approximately 48,000 military and civilian personnel work in San Diego, and it is the home port for approximately 60 Navy ships and home base to 50 separate commands, each having specific and specialized fleet support purposes.
ACA, with the help of convention attendees volunteering their time, created 400 care packages before the end of the welcome reception featuring Lohrenz’s speech July 14.
Support for Operation Gratitude also tied in to ACA’s visit to the USS Midway Museum for the ACPAC dinner, sponsored by Nationwide, BillingTree and Call Center Services International.
Building on the momentum of the growing Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship program, which gave scholarships to 35 recipients this year, the ACA International Education Foundation held a silent auction to raise funds for the future. The successful event raised just over $9,000 to help further the education of accounts receivable management professionals and their dependent children.
ACA International is thrilled to connect with so many professionals and members in the ARM industry at #ACAConv19 and welcome our new leadership, president Roger Weiss, IFCCE, and the Board of Directors for 2019/20. Thank you to all our attendees, speakers and sponsors for a successful event!
