Attention, students and parents of students: Do you like free money? Applications for the ACA International Education Foundation’s Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship are due in just over a month, on May 15, 2023.
These scholarships are designed to help individuals connected to the accounts receivable management industry and their children to further their education at post-secondary colleges, universities, community or technical colleges.
Share With Your Staff
ACA is urging its members to share the scholarship details with your staff because, as your employees, they and their children are eligible to apply. Recipients can use scholarship earnings for items like books, room and board, tuition and more.
Consider the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship a valuable employment benefit that should be celebrated!
Make sure your employees know about the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship by:
- Posting about it on your company intranet, newsletter, and other internal communications—provide consistent reminders to help keep it top of mind.
- Having supervisors remind their direct reports in meetings.
- Providing details to your HR staff so they can help promote this benefit to employees.
How to Apply
Scholarship applicants must be a current employee or child of an employee at a company affiliated with the credit and collection industry.
Additionally, the applicant must enroll for a minimum of 12 credit hours at an accredited college, university, vocational-technical college or community college within 12 months following receipt of the award.
Winners will be selected based on their cumulative grade-point average, their official grade transcript, and a written submission of a two- to three-page essay on the value of consumer credit to our nation’s economy. This may be either a creative story or persuasive essay.
