Employees from AMCOL Systems Inc., an ACA International member company in located Columbia, S.C., donated thousands of dollars to area charities in the first quarter of 2018.
Philanthropic spirit is at the core of AMCOL Systems’ mission. Employees voluntarily choose to donate a comfortable amount from each paycheck to a separate “Care to Share” fund earmarked for charity, according to a news release.
Throughout the year, employees vote on which organizations will receive donations. During the first quarter of 2018, they selected Care to Share charities including Pawmetto Lifeline (animal rescue/welfare dedicated to solving pet overpopulation in the Midlands), The United Way of the Midlands (addressing education, financial stability, and health needs of the community), and USO South Carolina (strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.)
Additionally, AMCOL was proud to be a Star Sponsor of the Make-A-Wish South Carolina Wish Ball 2018 and a Bronze sponsor of the JDRF Field of Dreams 2018 Hope Gala. AMCOL founders Jay and Mary Rickman were honored as the Living & Giving Award recipients at the gala.
“The desire to help others has been engrained in AMCOL’s culture since its inception over 40 years ago,” Chip Hellmann, president and CEO of AMCOL Systems Inc. said in the news release. “Ours is an engaged and empathetic group of professionals who embody our culture of building future leaders of our team as well as our community.”
