The Loomer-Mortenson scholarship recipients were selected by the first ever Collectors Challenge fundraising contest winners.
ACA member companies with the highest contributions and most creative fundraising ideas for the 2017 Collectors Challenge each recently selected an employee or dependent of an employee to receive a $1,000 Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship.
The ACA International Education Foundation (ACAEF) issued the scholarships as Collectors Challenge prizes for this first time in the history of the fundraiser this year, in addition to the merit-based scholarships announced at ACA International’s 2017 Annual Convention and Expo.
The fundraising contest scholarship recipients include:
- Dana Zake-Martin, the daughter of ProCom Services of Illinois employee Shanna Zake. ProComServices of Illinois raised $2,923 to donate to the ACAEF. Zake-Martin will study cosmetology at the University of Spa & Cosmetology Art in Springfield, Ill.
- Curtis E. Schmitt, a collector at American Profit Recovery Inc., which participated in Collectors Challenge for the ninth year. The company raised $1,778 for the ACAEF. Schmitt will study business administration at Oakland Community College.
- Mikayla Bounds, the dependent of an employee at Capio Partners, which donated $5,000 to the ACAEF, will attend Grayson County College in Denison, Texas to study childhood development.
- Talasia Jones, the daughter of an employee at Sunrise Credit Services Inc., will attend Howard University in Washington, D.C., to study psychology. Sunrise Credit Services Inc. was recognized for the most creative Collectors Challenge fundraising activity and donated $4,150 to the ACAEF.
Supporting the ACAEF helps create a more positive public image of the industry and the ACAEF thanks all of the Collectors Challenge participants and congratulates the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship winners.
