In an Emergency Order released March 27, 2020, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey essentially restricted all collections calls. ACA International launched a grassroots campaign so members can easily weigh in on this critical issue.
This is a very serious issue for consumers, creditors and debt collection agencies throughout the state. ACA International members are reporting high rates of inbound calls with connection rates topping 84%. Consumers need a sound financial path forward–now is the time for consumers to communicate about their obligations. Any effort to block communication could lead to serious financial issues for consumers.
Regardless of whether you collect in Massachusetts, this is an issue our entire industry needs to address. What happens in one state doesn’t necessarily stay in one state! We need to join forces today to educate AG Healey about the potential damaging implications of actions resulting in blocked business calls.
Contact AG Healey TODAY and ask that she rescind the order!
It only takes a second – just enter your address and zip code to send Attorney General Healey an email.
Please FORWARD this email or send this LINK to others in the industry so they can help too!
