ACA International’s 2021 Annual Convention & Expo is back as a live in-person event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas July 28-30.
The annual convention will feature education and business solutions as well as important accounts receivable management (ARM) industry updates. There will be fun activities too, including an awards breakfast and keynote, the Dinner with Strangers event as well as a Topgolf outing hosted by ACA’s Political Action Committee.
We will celebrate the success of the 2021 Collectors Challenge and ACA International Education Foundation Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship Program by naming 25 recipients of $40,000 in scholarships to further their education.
ACA has an exciting lineup of main stage presentations, which will showcase tips to reinvigorate your leadership skills and achieve work-life balance as well as important updates on how ACA is helping members succeed.
Kicking off the main stage presentations, Dick Vermeil will captivate the audience with behind-the-scenes stories and inspiring life lessons as he discusses the common-sense leadership principles that he learned and continually refined over his 15 seasons as an NFL head coach. Vermeil’s presentation, “Seven Common-Sense Principles of Leadership from Coach Dick Vermeil,” is at 3:30 p.m. PDT Wednesday, July 28.
The following afternoon, ACA leadership and special guest speakers will take the stage for the special live ACA Huddle at 3:45 p.m. PDT.
Meet ACA’s advocacy and compliance teams in person and ask your burning questions in a lively discussion moderated by ACA board member Rick Perr, co-managing counsel at Kaufman Dolowich Voluck LLP. The panel includes Leah Dempsey, ACA’s vice president and senior counsel of federal advocacy, Andrew Madden, ACA’s vice president of state unit and government affairs, Issa Moe, ACA’s general counsel, Colin Winkler, ACA’s corporate counsel, Travis Johnson, principal at 1607 Strategies, and Mark Brennan, partner at Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C.
On Friday, July 30, Keynote Amy Vetter will present “Business, Balance and Bliss: How B3 Method Can Transform Your Life.” Vetter’s presentation will help attendees gain the inspiration and tools to create a sense of work-life harmony, cultivate greater human connection with your customers, teams and colleagues, and practice mindfulness at work—both online and offline—for greater focus and productivity.
ACA also curated an extensive education lineup with sessions ranging from legal and compliance topics to operations and networking skills for the ARM industry.
Other featured events at the convention will include the welcome reception, the Blueprint Quality Management System workshop, and the Innovation Stage, which provides bite-sized sessions in the Expo Hall showcasing industry resources and solutions.
The Young Professionals Reception on July 28 will provide an opportunity for young professionals in the ARM industry to connect, share experiences and foster ideas for the future of the industry. Swing by the by for quick chats with your colleagues before the main stage kicks off.
Additionally, new members of ACA or first timers should be sure to attend the First Timers Reception July 28, where you’ll meet ACA board members and staff as well as fellow first-time attendees and learn how you can make the most of your convention experience.
Other highlights include the Women in Collections Reception July 29. Meet with women in collections, learn about the importance of mentorship and make new connections at this reception hosted by ACA's Women in Collections Resource Council. This reception includes a special guest appearance by keynote Amy Vetter.
ACA’s convention will close with a celebration for 2021/22 President Kevin Baich and outgoing president Scott Purcell. Emceed by Past President Roger Weiss, the night will begin with a reception and dinner, installation of officers on ACA’s Board of Directors and Baich’s vision for his year as president. Magician Murray Sawchuck will perform.
