In August, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) issued a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in response to a June 22 request from ACA International and its partner organizations seeking more detail about the DCA’s new foreign language services rules.
The DCA issued the FAQs “to help debt collectors comply with the new rules” and it intends to “to modify the new rules to reflect answers and interpretations in [the FAQs].”
Jonathan Pompan, a partner with Venable LLP in Washington, D.C., and Alexandra Megaris, a partner in the firm’s New York City office, will review these FAQs during the next ACA Huddle for ACA International members at 11 a.m. CDT Wednesday, Sept. 2
The ACA Huddle also features a daily update on the current landscape for receivables businesses as both the federal and state governments are discussing or enacting legislation and regulations that will impact the collection activity and business operations of our member agencies. ACA’s advocacy and compliance teams are tracking this activity and will provide members with a daily update on the current landscape for receivables businesses. Join the ACA Huddle each week to stay up to date on the rules of the game.
The ACA Huddle is a members-only event and no registration is required. Simply log in to the event website to find the WebEx link and password.
