GavelThe accounts receivable management industry is currently embroiled in one of the toughest political fights in its history. At the federal level, the accounts receivable management industry continues to face an unprecedented level of attention from federal lawmakers and regulators as we respond to the first ever debt collection proposal from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, over a dozen debt collection related bills on Capitol Hill, and advocate for action from the Federal Communications Commission addressing key issues about the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, SHAKEN/STIR and call blocking and labeling.

Congress also continues to work on its first-ever landmark Federal Privacy legislation and has advanced legislation through the House but not the Senate concerning Operation Choke Point. It is critical that ACA, and more importantly ACA members have a seat at the table during these important discussions that will impact the future of the industry for years to come.

Members need to join ACA International at this annual event during this highly critical time for the industry to connect with key policymakers in face-to-face meetings to ensure that Washington’s leadership understands the real-world impact of their decisions.

As in previous years, members can expect to engage with various lawmakers, their staff and ACA International’s advocacy leadership including CEO Mark Neeb. ACA International’s D.C. team continues to develop a stellar line-up of speakers, so members are advised to continually check back and remain in touch with staff to learn more about the program.
