Why Should I Attend?
An introductory level presentation to familiarize attendees with the various ways to get involved in advocacy efforts in support of the collection industry, as well as other business and personal issues that are important to them. The material will focus on the process of initiating and maintaining relationships with elected & regulatory officials and candidates at the local, state and federal levels, so they are available when an issue of importance comes up.Fran & Leah will draw on their experiences, and those of other members, provide resources, and answer questions from the audience. The goal of this session is to spark interest in advocacy by demonstrating the benefits that attendees can gain through participation and to create a greater level of comfort for those individuals when they consider participating in their state unit advocacy efforts or attending ACA events like Washington Insights.
