The CFPB is expected to release its long-awaited outline of proposals for debt collection rulemaking.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced Friday that it will hold a field hearing regarding debt collection on Thursday, July 28 at 11 am PT in Sacramento, Calif. ACA International expects the CFPB to release its outline of proposals under consideration for debt collection rulemaking, which will provide insight into what the CFPB is likely to include in its much-anticipated proposed rule.
Also in conjunction with the hearing, ACA International expects the announcement of a Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness panel, which is required by law and will consider the feedback of small business debt collectors on the proposals. Representatives from ACA International will attend the hearing and report on its proceedings.
ACA International will also hold a teleseminar for members on Monday, August 1 at 11 am CT with the latest information about the CFPB's proposal. Registration will open soon.
