Ted M. Smith, CAE

ACA executive management staff, senior vice president of ACA International and executive director of International Association of Commercial Collectors

Ted Smith has been a staff member of ACA International for more than 25 years. In 2009, Smith was named senior vice president. In this position, Smith oversees the staff and administration of several departments: Membership, Campus ACA and Sales & Marketing. Combined, these departments are responsible for producing more than $4 million in revenue for ACA each year. Prior to being named senior vice president, Smith served as vice president of membership, vice president of programs and director of the Healthcare Services Program.

In addition to his duties with ACA, Smith has been the executive director for the International Association of Commercial Collectors Inc. (IACC) for the past 19years. IACC is an international trade association for business-to-business collections. IACC currently has a membership of nearly 400 commercial collection agencies, commercial collection attorneys and industry vendors.

Smith is a member of both the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the 2010-2011 president of the Midwest Society of Association Executives (MSAE). In 1997, he earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for MSAE and for Forius Business Credit Resources, an affiliate organization of the National Association of Credit Management (NACM).

He is also currently on the editorial advisory boards for Aspen Publishers and Collections and Credit Risk magazine.
