Thirty-two ACA International members have declared their candidacy for 12 open seats on the restructured ACA International Board of Directors.
On July 18, 2012, the previous ACA Board will be seated as the inaugural Council of Delegates. The council will elect 12 board members: four to serve three-year terms, four to serve two-year terms and four to serve one-year terms. They will join current officers Tom Stockton (2012/13 president), Leslie Bender (2012/13 president-elect) and Tim Mabry (2012/13 treasurer) as the new ACA International Board of Directors.

The association’s new governance structure is the result of a recommendation from ACA’s Governance Task Force following more than a year of research and development. The ACA Board approved amended bylaws, standard operating procedures and a governance transition plan on Dec. 15, 2011. The ACA membership then approved the amended bylaws and transition plan on March 22, 2011, affirming the task force’s plan and setting the scene for July’s election.
