Mexico Debt Collection Fastfax #3062

In an effort to provide clarity for members, ACA has conducted research on the collection of debts in Mexico. While Mexico does feature a Federal Consumer Protection Law, Mexico does not appear to have any statutory equivalent to the FDCPA. Thus, while there are laws in place in Mexico to protect the consumer in the marketplace generally, there does not appear to be any comprehensive regulation of debt collectors in Mexico. What follows is information on the collection of debts in Mexico.
