Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
The purpose of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is to eliminate abusive debt collection practices by debt collectors and to insure that those debt collectors who refrain from using abusive debt collection practices are not competitively disadvantaged.

All agencies collecting consumer debt need to comply with and be knowledgeable about the FDCPA. This session will include an analysis of recent judicial decisions regarding the FDCPA, as well as Federal Trade Commission staff interpretations.
