“Agency” membership in ACA International is appropriate for these types of companies:
- Third–party consumer debt collection agencies.
- Collection law firms.
- Asset (debt) buying companies that also handle collections.
- Other companies substantially engaged in or related to the collection industry, such as billing companies.
Agency members are the largest group under the ACA umbrella. In fact, ACA International is the largest trade association for third–party consumer debt collection agencies. Since 1939, ACA has served the needs of the collection industry and helped build it into a vital part of today's world economy. Currently, there are over 3,400 members in the agency member group, including over 300 international members in more than 50 countries.

ACA agency membership is available by location. Each office wanting ACA member benefits must complete an application and pay dues. Multi–office discounts are available.
For companies in the United States, membership is a combined package of national plus unit benefits provided by 43 state and regional collectors associations affiliated with ACA. U.S. Unit dues vary from state to state and are paid in addition to the current U.S. national dues of $265 (includes one person), plus $22 for each additional full–time equivalent employee up to a maximum of $1,300.
For companies located outside the 50 United States, agency dues are $165 USD. At this time, there are no unit dues for international members.
